Blake has in essence become the ambassador of stoic, surfing achievements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">While he has always been up-front about his goal to use his ambitious quests to raise awareness about mental health, Blake\u2019s new film \u2018In Pieces Together\u2019 deals squarely with the issue of suicide and its impact upon Australian life. Blake lost his own father to suicide, and the film features a host of other high-profile people who speak candidly about the stifling role mental health problems play in our society.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">While \u2018In Pieces Together\u2019 isn\u2019t likely to gloss over the heavy subject matter, it still offers the hope that through Blake\u2019s big initiatives others will be inspired to talk openly and take action against the problem. \u201cThis journey started from a deeply personal place,\u201d explains Blake. \u201cBut these struggles aren\u2019t unique to me. At the heart of this film is a simple belief &#8211; everyone deserves to feel awesome. Photo: Grant Trouville.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2018In Pieces Together\u2019 is directed and written by celebrated filmmaker Macario de Souza, perhaps best known for his work on \u2018Bra Boys\u2019, who admits personal experiences influenced his reason to get involved. \u201cI met Blake when I was processing my own challenges and was inspired by the way he navigated mental health struggles with honesty and purpose,\u201d de Souza said. \u201cThe film is about opening up better conversations that people, especially men struggle to have.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Narrated by Luke Hemsworth and showcasing an eclectic soundtrack (Xavier Rudd, Grinspoon, Hermitude, Big Scary, Little May, Tony Snowdon, Kobie Dee and Kid Mac, alongside global icon Fred Again,) \u2018In Pieces Together\u2019 tackles tough subject matter and becomes a powerful piece of film, capable at once of informing, entertaining and inspiring an audience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In Pieces Together will premiere on Fox Sports available on Kayo Sports and Foxtel, as well as Binge at 8.30pm AEST on May 13.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A movie which encourages us to talk openly, strengthen the bonds of community and take action.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":2,"featured_media":126230,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_acf_changed":false,"footnotes":""},"categories":[1,20,332,5547],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-126218","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-general","category-news","category-slider-home","category-slider-news"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v27.6 -
