Torren Martyn is one of modern surfing’s great wanderers. If you dropped him into surfing’s original era of exploration, he’d fit right in. He always chooses the path of most resistance, the road less traveled and the option which disconnects him from society. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

His latest mission saw him and longtime friend and filmmaker Ishka Folkwell attempt to circumnavigate Tasmania in two 18ft sailing kayaks in search of waves.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After months of slow travel at sea, the result is ‘Southern Edge’ a full length surf adventure film which, after doing the rounds up and down the East Coast of Australia, has been publicly released by Needessentials. The brand, which sponsors Torren, continues to consciously ‘invest in filmmaking rather than advertising materials’.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
