To master this wave you need to forget about the rocks racing towards you at the end section and deal with them when you get there. He made this one and got blown out 20 metres down the line.
Photo: Jeremy WilmotteBlake: This was a fun little peak which was good for turns. It was two foot max when all of a sudden this thing reared up out of nowhere. I’m sitting in the face just out of frame. I kid you not I could see straight through that thing. It was the only one of the day.

JEREMY: This is Dion Atkinson trying to reach the gods and clear his sins away after missing another Sunday Church service. Pray that the waves are flat on Sunday because if they are not you will be watching waves roll through unridden with the local giant-footed priest and the rest of the town.

No surfing on Sundays in front of the Church. Photo: Jeremy WilmotteJEREMY: One of the unavoidable parts of Samoan life if you come to visit. Sunday is their day for church and rest. The island comes to life with the young and old, dressed in white, flocking to church for a mass and some beautiful singing by the ladies. Surfing in front of a church on Sunday is prohibited and oddly enough 80% of the waves are situated directly in front of a church.

Photo: Jeremy WilmotteJEREMY: Coconuts out the front of the Lineup Surf camp is one of the best known waves in Samoa but suffers from the Samoan factor, if it’s not the day of the year it’s one of the fastest, biggest closeouts you may ever surf. If you do get lucky here though, my gosh you will know about it as it does this all the way down the reef and it is a very long reef. This wave here is a good six-foot-plus.

Wesley Desouza Photo: Jeremy WilmotteBLAKE: Wesley Desouza was always happy while in the water and enjoying moments like this, but was ready to jump on the next available flight out of Samoa when on land thanks to being constantly hassled for money, getting ripped off and receiving death stares from gigantic footy players.

There are plenty of waves to be found in different conditions, but access can be hard to near impossible a lot of the time as roads are not always near the coast and the fauna is so thick your going to have to cut your way through. Here, Blake looks straight into the throat of one of those waves.
