It’s been an indifferent start to the 2026 WSL Championship Tour for Jordy Smith. After spending much of last season in the yellow jersey, eventually finishing third after losing to Griffin in the final five showdown at Cloudbreak, big bru has started his campaign with a 9th and two 17ths. He’s currently 23rd in the rankings and some will question whether the 38-year-old father can replicate the inspired form which saw him come so close to a first World Title last season.
If you seek answers, look no further than his latest YouTube edit which is a compilation of free surf clips from his time in Australia over the last two months. From tearing apart DBah to putting on a clinic at some of the right hand points in Northern NSW, there’s no question that the South African has got what it takes.
Jordy’s surfing aside, it was also a stark reminder that world class waves exist outside of the hustle and bustle of the Gold Coast. What a beautiful coastline we live on, get out there and enjoy all it has to offer.
